How to Use the Anti Stone Chip

If you’ve got your compressor or a spray can, using MOTIP Stone Chip Spray is pretty straightforward. Here’s the typical workflow.

  1. Prep the surface: remove any loose paint, flaky old coating, or rust. Sand it down, make sure it’s clean, dry, and free from grease or oil.

  2. Shake & spray test: especially for aerosol: shake at least 2 minutes, then spray a small test patch. Maintain ~25–30 cm distance while spraying. 

  3. Apply in several layers: don’t try to do it all in one go. Multiple thin coats give better adhesion and reduce risk of runs.

  4. Let it dry: drying time depends on temperature, humidity, and layer thickness. Once dry, you can even overpaint with regular lacquer if you want a clean finish.

  5. Clean-up: for aerosol, turn upside down and spray nozzle for a few seconds to clear. For gun-applied 1 L cans, clean the spray-gun with white spirit after use.

Pro tip: do this in a well-ventilated garage, ideally between 15–25 °C. For big chassis jobs, the 1 L gun-can version pays off. For small rust-spots or touch ups: aerosol does the job fine.
